Community Placemaking
Year 2020
Location Pambula NSW
Project type Village Wayfinding
This project began as a simple request to replace an aging signpost in the main street of town. It quickly evolved into an opportunity to celebrates Pambula’s identity and community spirit.
The design encompassed a custom-drawn, laser-cut map of the area, applied to perspex and mounted on a corten steel box with adjoining timber bench seat and small native garden that replaced a dilapidated wire fence. Becoming a welcoming place for locals and visitors alike to pause, rest, and take in the village atmosphere.
As a charity project, it has been truly rewarding to see this embraced and used as a place for conversation, and connection.
